'''Sundown''' is a character in the now-defunct [[City of Heroes MMO]].

=Character Background=

Much of Sundown's history is still being vetted. However, what has been revealed is that Sundown was once a member of the [[Paragon City Police Department]] and knew first-hand about the corruption and rampant abuses under police chief [[Chief Bochco|Conrad Bochco]]. When he tried to make a formal complaint, though, his "brothers of the badge" destroyed the evidence and dismissed his claims.

Seeing no other option, this officer turned to [[Jimmy Hellfighter]], a former police officer who was formally assigned to investigate the corrupt officers. He secretly helped Hellfighter gather the evidence that would be needed to bring criminal charges.

Then he was sent out on a call without backup. It ended up being a set-up for his death. And he would have died if not for a hiding [[Nictus]] that saw the attempted murder as an opportunity to redeem itself. The two merged into a [[Warshade]] that called itself "Sundown". As a Kheldian hybrid with all of the memories of both beings, Sundown was able to provide both first-and-third-person eyewitness testimony that sent several disgraced cops to prison.

After he gave his testimony, Sundown left for Oklahoma City, where he served as that city's few registered heroes and law enforcers.

However, with the resurrected [[Blue Dog Squad]] making the news, Sundown was obligated to come back to Paragon City. With Hellfighter deceased, he sought out [[Jason Knight]]. But he instead met up with [[Cardinal Syn]], who was running Jason's task force. He pledged his support to the Task Force.

=Powers and Abilities=
As a Warshade Kheldian, Sundown's primary power is '''Umbral Blast''', using focused dark energy as an offensive weapon.

His secondary power is '''Umbral Aura''', which allows him to steal the life-forces of others and use that power for sustenance or to bolster his defenses.

As with other Warshades, Sundown can also use his power to teleport to short locations. In addition to this inherent power, Sundown also has learned how to focus his powers to allow himself to fly.

As a Kheldian hybrid, Sundown also has access to the two legacy forms that he can transform himself into. A squid-like being that constantly floats, and a hardened lobster-like form that has immense strength and durability.

Sundown also retains all of his law enforcement knowledge and training.

==Personality==
Sundown is cold, dark, and cynical. He is not impressed by authority, especially when he's seen it abused.
